4 Days to go......

Here i am sitting in my room in facing into a global economic condition which might actually become the Second Great depression.....
This is not a great time for looking for a job especially a summer job when the employers kind of know that you would not add much value. Anyway its been 3 painfully long month that all of us have been preparing for these 5 days approaching us, All this for the sake of those 2 months which can according to some more informed people supposed to be life changing. A batch of 300 with atleast 200 still hoping to see the ray of hope called a "shortlist", this one name on the Place Board seems to be as big as the life itself. Its a very thought provoking situation for me now, though before I get into that I have to confess that i was also desperately waiting for a shortlist and had to spend a couple of painful days thinking why me! But i am glad that the self realisation occured. So, Now back to the observation. Why do these things become so important in one of the top 3 B-Schools of this country. Everyone of the 300 peresent would not just besuccessful but would actually become a part of the top 1% of this country. But then if i realise this i am sure other also do.
The interesting part is the reason that because of us start attaching so much importance to it , I just seems too big to be true. Its a giant of terror we created for ourselves. Success and failure are never so short term. Life should be given a chance to unfold before we judge the experience called Life!
That brings me back to one of my earlier posts : Life is an Aimless Rat Race!!!!!
When would be stop running to compete and start running to achieve! Which would not make us comparatively happy, rather really happy :)

Modern India!!

Well yesterday i was watching the TV flipping through channels looking for at least something which is worth wasting my time, which as a matter of fact isn't that important, but still couldn't find anything!! But then i struck gold i saw this news channel( i must say these news channels are pretty interesting these days ) with like a thousand people on screen running in a field with a couple of dozen policemen running behind them with the caption under the video: Breaking News..gujjars want reservation in Rajasthan, 6 die!!!
The actual news was, at two places in rajasthan dausa and kota, gujjars who are basically an upper caste want the government to recognize them as one of the scheduled tribes, so during the demonstration they had blocked the highway between jaipur and agra and to clear them off the highway the police had to fire at them!!
That made me laugh my guts out. Was just trying to re frame the piece of news in normal English and it looked like this: Gujjars the UPPER CASTE wants the people of the country to recognize them as a LOWER CASTE!!!
Imagine telling this to someone a hundred years back when people were dying because of this caste system and they could have done anything to get rid of this agonizing practice but the only difference it was the other way round.
The UPA government has done a great job in developing this country, we no longer have people such as those from the kerela of the 60's, when thousands and lakhs of low caste hindus converted to Christianity just to get rid of the social and economic troubles! And now the UPA government has completely turned things around for the people! It wont be a shock for me or for that matter for any of us if those lakhs of Christians start reconverting to law caste hindus!
Would sure be a treat for the father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi sitting in heaven and looking at this country where he fought so much for the rights of the lower castes and started calling them HARIJANS ( sons of god) just to get them acceptance in the society, that now the people don't just accept them they are ready to literally die to be one of them, shocking it is but its the Modern India's Truth!!

Believe in yourself

"Believe in yourself" thats what most parents tell their kids to do when probably they are low because of some failure(read..not being able to live upto their parents expectations coz kids hardly know what a faliure is at that age when they are forced into this unfair world of competitiveness) they have had or they could be having in the future. for most part of my life i hadnt believed in that but somehow lalety i had become a strong believer of the theory as being the only secret to success.
so as is the habit of mine i was preaching this to one of my friends, that she should believe in herself and everything would become great when she suddenly caught me offgaurd and she said something which actually made me think about it all over again.
she said"is just believing enough to succeed? dont we need luck more than the belief?"
and i just had to think over it, is it the "belief in oneself" which is most necessary to succeed or is it the "Luck" which is the almighty.
So the i wondered, LUCK, what does this little word of four letters mean? Is it what has been written for us to get in this span of few years we call Life?
It doesnt feel great to think on those lines coz it ends at us getting to a conclusion tha we are not the masters of our destiny and worse still we have absolutely no control over our future and what is going to happen would Happen no matter what we do!!honestly i would not want to believe that. so i am happier with the belief that i control my life and am sure i share these thoughts with quite a few others. thus for me and people like me its NOT Luck which we care about!
Well probably for the ones who believe in Luck its more of their own belief in God which makes them think that luck is on their side and they make things turn our way.
So it again comes down to what we believe in or rather who we believe in, and if the "who" is yourself then i think one would always suceed in whatever endeavours he start with a belief in himself!!

Life changes every second,
Always hope the next second belongs to you

this life has become a rat race and all we care about is leading the pack and are not realising the basic fact "it still is an AIMLESS RAT RACE"

grass is always greener on the other side

Have you ever had any of these experiences :-
1)the lane you are driving in is always the slowest(with exception to all those bike riders coz you dont have any lanes :P )
2)the maggi you get is always lesser than what your friend sitting next to you got and that specially tends to happen when you are really very hungry!!
3)out of the chapters you had done for the exam and what the guy sitting next to you had done most questiond turn out to be from the ones u didnt do and he did!!
4)your vivas always take more time than most other people in your class
5)the food you ordered in a restraunt always takes more time to get ready and is generally the worst among all the orders.
then you are suffering from what i like to call "grass is greener syndrome"
well dont be scared its not a serious disease(not something like the one in which the patient starts eating green grass hehe)
but its just a proof of you being human.because believe me we are an ugly race.more than we like ourselves getting something great we hate others getting anything even a little better than ourselves!!!
just think about it when was the last time when something that happend to you was what exactly you wanted and you were thinkin about all those other not so lucky one who had to compromise with whatever life had offered them. i am pretty sure no one would be able to remeber any such incident. and i am even more sure about the fact that you can easily remember atleast one such incident in the past 24 hours of your life that you had been jealous of someone else's achivements or property etc.
for all we need to realise is everything had its pros n cons, ups n downs, dark n bright periods just that rather than assuming that life would always be bright and that we need to crib when it gets dark we should learn to appreciate the brightness when its there :)

so next time you are driving your car in heavy traffic just look at those lanes next to you which are at a standstill when you are moving swiftly( p.s. dont blame me if your lane is actually the slowest coz someone has to be on that slowest lane :P)

The way you feel.........is what you want yourself to feel like
